Gracie Lillian Lawson Jones

Ms. Gracie Lillian Lawson Jones, 86 of Dobson, passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2026, at Dunmore Plantation Assisted Living in Dobson, NC. She was born in Surry County, January 24, 1940, to the late Lester Everett Lawson and Jettie Viola Sawyers Lawson. She was of the Baptist faith. Ms. Jones loved to work with her flowers and garden. Ms. Jones is survived by three sons, Timothy Lawson, Paul Callas, and Kevin Jones, five grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Eva and Stanley Meredith, and Edith Young; several nieces and nephews, and many more family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ms. Jones was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Ann Lawson Siegert; and by five brothers, Charles Everett Lawson, Garnett Gray Lawson, James Paul Lawson, Ransom Junior Lawson, and Wayne Ray Lawson. A graveside service will be held at the Lawson Family Cemetery in Ararat, NC on Saturday June 20, 2026, at 2:00pm with Pastor Davis Smith officiating. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
