Gregory Mills Willis

Mr. Gregory Mills Willis, age 68, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on September 25, 2026, at First Health Hospice House in West End, North Carolina.

Greg was born in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on November 17, 1957, the son of the late Lewis McClellan “Mac” Willis and Gloria Mills Willis. He was a graduate of Mount Airy High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following his graduation from UNC, Greg earned his law degree from Northern Kentucky University College of Law.

Greg devoted much of his professional life to the practice of law. His career included public service as a prosecuting attorney for the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission, as well as many years in private practice. His private practice included a focus on workers’ compensation law. Throughout his career, Gregory brought his knowledge and experience to serving others and remained dedicated to the profession he had chosen.

Greg was a longtime member of Raleigh Elks Lodge No. 735. A quiet and thoughtful man with a wonderful sense of humor, those who knew him best will remember his wit and the understated way he could bring humor to a moment. He will be deeply missed by his family and by those who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Freddie and Gloria S. Willis; his niece, Spencer Adams and her husband, Dan; and his nephew, Alex Willis. In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his longtime partner, Richard Keenan. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is entrusted with his funeral arrangements.
