Gurney Curtis Hodges Jr

Mr. Gurney Curtis “ Curt” Hodges Jr, age 72, of Mount Airy, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at Surry Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on January 24, 1953 in Surry County to the late Gurney Curtis Hodges Sr and Alma Johnson Hodges. Left to cherish his memory are sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie Parsons (Donnie), Pat Rosendahl (Jay Lynn); nieces and nephews, Tammy Brown (Steve), Shannon Blizzard Cox, John David Gilley, Nichole Gordon, Haley Hobbs (Jason), Jessica Harp (Stephen). In addition to his parents Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a sister, Pamela Gilley; niece, Suzanne Gwyn, and a great-nephew, Mason Gilley. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Israel Gwyn. The family will receive friends on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Surry Community Health Center by Harborview and as well as those at the Murdoch Development Center.
