Harold Wayne "Shorty" Easter

Mr. Harold Wayne “Shorty” Easter, age 91 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem surrounded by his loving family.  Mr. Easter was born in Surry County on October 14, 1932, to the late Kermit and Elizabeth Whitaker Easter.  Wayne was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.  He had a wealth of knowledge about Mount Airy and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.  Surviving is his wife of 66 years, Helen Williams Easter; son Mitchell Easter and partner, Madison Jade; a daughter-in-law, Pamela Easter; three grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Eldridge and Linda Easter; along with several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Easter was preceded in death by infant daughter, Rhonda Lynn Easter; a son Michael Wayne Easter; and three brothers, Warren Nelson Easter, Curtis Eugene Easter; and Joseph Michael Easter.  No formal services will be held at this time.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with the arrangements.
