Harold Lafayette Ramey

Mr. Harold Lafayette Ramey age 89, of Lowgap passed away Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Elkin Health Care. Mr. Ramey was born on June 11, 1919 in Beckley, W VA to the late William Jasper and Audie Varco Frost Ramey. He served in World War II and was a retired farmer. Mr. Ramey is survived by his wife, Myrtle Ruth Sprinkle Ramey of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jeff Stone of Wagram, NC; a son and daughter-in-law, William Harold "Butch" Ramey of Winston Salem; grandchildren, Casey Ramey of Winston Salem, Jeremiah Stone and wife Myra of Wagram, NC, Jake Stone of Greensboro, Jenny Stone of Wagram, NC; one great grandchild, Joscelin Souranonh of Wagram; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Lois Ramey of Galax, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ramey was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Ramey Craven and a brother, William Coy "Bill" Ramey. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church by Rev. Joe Atkins with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, September 1, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at Roaring Gap Baptist Church.
