Mrs. Harriet Marie Steele Comer Marsh, age 72, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away at her home on Saturday evening April 21, 2012. She was born in Jackson County, NC to the late Harry Lee and Camilla Hall Steele on February 19, 1940. She was a member of Salem Fork Christian Church and had worked at Bendix as an assembly line foreman, she had worked at Washington Mills in Dobson, she was an accomplished seamstress, loved to hunt and was also a international traveler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Wilson Comer; one brother James Tucker; three sisters Mary Fox, Miona Hooper, and Opal Lusk; by a sister-in-law Jemima Tucker. Surviving are her two daughters and their husbands, Sherri Comer-Cox and Gary Cox of Lexington Park, Maryland; Dianne Comer Mohiuddin and Konoz Mohiuddin of Lahore, Pakistan; one son Howard Comer II and his special dog Mel of Surf City; step daughter Gail Comer Miller and her husband Terry Miller of Dobson; five grandchildren; Todd Nathanial Cox, Ryan Christopher Cox, Serena Comer Mohiuddin, Kaadir Comer Mohiuddin, Anaya Comer Mohiuddin; two step grandchildren and spouses, Gary and Sofia Miller, Teresa Miller Perry and John Perry; step great grandchildren Tiffany Miller and Seth Perry; her special pet Buddy; six sisters and three brothers-in-law Naomi Reese of Concord, Ione and Henry Meadows of Perry, GA, Mackie and Mack Queen of Cullowhee, Jackie Coward of Cullowhee, Gladys and Jerry Ray of Roswell, GA, Cleo Rogers of Lawrence, SC; two brothers and sisters-in-law Joe and Helen Tucker of Greensboro, Clyde and Margaret Steele of Franklin; special friends Leonard and Jenny Hiatt of Dobson, Keith and Karen Surratt and family of Dobson. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 27, 2012 at 6:30 PM in Salem Fork Christian Church with Pastor Sherri Comer-Cox and Rev. June Haislip. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the memorial service. Harriet was much loved by her family and friends. There will be no formal services held at the Funeral Home. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Marsh family
