Hassie Ellen Gunnell Gunter

Mrs. Hassie Ellen Gunnell Gunter age 88 of Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Tuesday February 10, 2015 at her home. Mrs. Gunter was born February 28, 1926 in Surry County to the late Floyd Columbus and Nancy Ellen Noonkester Gunnell, she was a homemaker and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law Rodney Cecil and Kathy Gunter of Mt. Airy, Charles Glenn and Alita Gunter of Lowgap and Michael Gray Gunter of Mt. Airy, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. In addition to her parents Mrs. Gunter was preceded in death by her husband Charles Cecil Gunter, one sister Imogene Moore and by two brothers Ralph Gunnell, Sr. and Clyde Gunnell and by a daughter-in-law Sandra Gunter. Funeral services will be held Thursday February 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Chaplain Justin Nelson and Rev. Dennis "Bud" Cameron with burial to follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt.
