Hattie Lee Golding Cain

Mrs. Hattie Lee Golding Cain, 84, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday morning, February 3, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson.   Mrs. Cain was born December 1, 1939, in Carroll County, VA, the daughter of the late Jack Creed and Gracie Hawks Golding.  Hattie retired as a van driver at Crossroads Behavioral Health after many years of service, and she also worked as a bus driver at Franklin Elementary School for several years.  She was a member of Flat Ridge Baptist Church.  She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Deena and Vince Willis and Robin and Mike Dollyhigh; a son, Dennis Cain; her grandchildren, Seth and Jessica Perry, Amoree Willard, Corinna Dollyhigh and her fiancé, Josh Morphies, Cainan and Levi Rippey, Morgan Cain, Maycee Cain, Ethan Willis, and Allison Willis; her great-grandchildren, Abi Willard, Ella Willard, Cooper Perry, Landon Cain, Ace Cain, and Addyson Morphies; a sister, Jo Brannock; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Helena Moncus, Denny and Tammy Simmons, Lou Sapp, Larry and Fern McMillian, Betty Jean Gwynn, Sandy Bowman, and Helen Ayers; and a special companion, Zoey.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cain was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Hayrue Cain; three sisters, Betty White, Pauline Koontz, and Alene Faulkner; four brothers, C.J. Golding, Claude Golding, Wayne Golding, and Harlie Golding; and a special friend, Charlie Moncus.  A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with Bro. Sammy Lawson officiating.  No formal visitation will be held.  The family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and compassion shown by the staff at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home and Novant Cardiology.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC  27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
