Helen Blankenship Andrews

Mrs. Helen Blankenship Andrews age 85 of 1002 Springs St., Mt. Airy, NC. passed away Thursday May 10, 2012, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. Mrs. Andrews was born August 9, 1926, in North Wilkesboro to the late Mack Beech Blankenship and Bertha Estella Clanton Blankenship. She was retired from Sears & Roebuck Co. and from the Surry County Health Department. Mrs. Andrews was a member of The First Presbyterian Church in Mt. Airy and was very active in her church and in a number of volunteer and civic activities in Mt. Airy. Surviving are her husband Francis Eugene "Andy" Andrews of the home, one daughter and son-in-law, Pat Ashley and her husband Bob, of Durham, one son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. "Bob" Andrews and wife Sally K. Andrews of Statesville, three grandchildren Sarah K. Andrews of Raleigh, Robert M. Andrews, II of Durham, and Andrew Ashley of Durham, one sister Louise Blankenship Palmer of North Wilkesboro, and by one brother Mack Beech Blankenship Jr. of Greensboro. A memorial service will be held Saturday May 12, 2012, at 11:00 am at Moody Funeral Home and Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. Steve Lindsley. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy, NC.
