Helen Hollingsworth Cooke

Mrs. Helen Louise Willard Hollingsworth Cooke, age 95, of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. She was born in Surry County, March 8, 1929, the daughter of Joseph Hezkiah and Elsie Ann Payne Willard. Mrs. Cooke retired from Belk Stores, Inc. of Mount Airy, NC and was a member of the Shelton Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her children, Kenneth Hollingsworth and his wife, Shirley, Amelia Reeves and her husband, Eddie, and Nancy Annette Hollingsworth; step children, Mike Cooke, David Cooke and his wife, Kris; grandchildren, Andrew Hollingsworth, Philip Hollingsworth and his wife, Son Young, Rachel Reeves Cain and her husband, James, Sarah Reeves Joyner and her husband, Joe, Eric Brannock and Amanda Clement, Stephanie Brannock Badgett and her husband, Freddy; step grandchildren, Brian Cooke and his wife, Claire, Allen Cooke and his wife, Abbey; great grandchildren, Matthew Hollingsworth, Cecilia Hollingsworth, Ava Brannock, Madison Badgett, Ryder Badgett, Emmaline Joyner and Holland Joyner; step great grandchildren, Dallas Cooke, Brian David Cooke, Jr. “Bo”, Max Cooke, Sally Cooke, Jake Cooke; sister, Elizabeth Ann Willard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Ray Hollingsworth, her second husband, Aldie Boyce Cooke, her grandchildren, Bradley and Rodney Hollingsworth, step daughter-in-law, Jackie Cooke, infant sister Sallie Willard, brother, Harvey Willard. A memorial graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM, at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, PO Box 325 Dobson, NC 27017.
