Mrs. Helen Trivette Phillips, 81, of Dobson, passed away Tuesday evening, May 24, 2011, at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin. She was born March 23, 1930, in Yadkin County, to the late John Franklin and Mamie Thomas Trivette. She retired from Haynes Hosiery with over 43 years of service and was a lifelong member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade J. Phillips; three sisters; and three brothers. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Dan Taylor of Dobson; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Joyce Phillips of Pilot Mountain; a grandson, Brandon Phillips; three stepgrandchildren, Amanda Taylor, Casey Marsh, and Kevin Marsh; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Hemric of New Holland PA; three brothers, James Trivette of Dobson, Gray Trivette of Dobson, and Don Trivette of Jonesville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 11:00 AM at Mount Hermon Baptist Church, with the Rev. James Pardue officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 27, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson, where her body will remain until carried to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the funeral service. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Mount Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/O Alvin Hardy, 1312 Chandler Road, Dobson, NC 27017.
