Helen Jane Wall

Mrs. Helen Childress Wall, age 94, of Mount Airy, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Wall was born in Patrick County, Virginia on September 10, 1931, to the late Joseph and Eva Hiatt Childress. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will most fondly be remembered as a great cook, making sure that your favorite meal was available, and was always the last one to eat. Family was most dear to Helen, as she looked forward to the many family gatherings. Most importantly, she had a deep love for the many people in her life. She was the oldest member of Crossroads Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memories are her sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Wall and Susan, Jeff Wall and Joy, Tim Wall; grandchildren, Shannon Wall and Vic, Brandon Wall and Ashley, Jessica Wall, Katie Smith and Hunter, Tyler Wall and Rachel, Dwaine Wall, Makayla Shaw and Taylor, Mariah Frye and Justus; eighteen grandchildren and one on the way; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Billy, Coy, JC “Jake”. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wall was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Cleveland Wall; four brothers. A celebration of Mrs. Wall’s life will be held on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Crossroads Baptist Church in Dobson with Pastor Jeff Wall and Rev. Larry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Pine Hill Baptist Church. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 25, 2026, from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Wall family.
