Helena Joyce Tesh Boyd

Mrs. Helena Joyce Tesh Boyd, 87, of Raleigh, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009. Mrs. Boyd was born January 24, 1922, in Surry County, to Roy D. and Lula Elizabeth Tilley Tesh. She was a retired nursing assistant and was a dedicated member of Grace Moravian Church for many years. Surviving are three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Boyd, Jr. of Capron, VA, Clark and Sheila Boyd of Mount Airy, and David Boyd of Wake Forest; four grandchildren, Bruce Boyd, Jason Boyd, Michael Boyd, and Sherry Sexton; two great-grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Vance and Reba Tesh of Charlotte. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyd was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Lee Boyd, Sr.; and three brothers, Clinton Tesh, R.D. Tesh, and Wayne Tesh. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at 11:00 AM at God's Acre, conducted by the Rev. Tony Haworth. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
