Howard Lee Belcher

Mr. Howard Lee Belcher, age 68 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 5, 2013. He was born on May 21, 1945 in Patrick County to the late Ray Belcher and Myrtle Hall Belcher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Marie B. Brannon. Mr. Belcher was a faithful member and servant of Mountain View United Methodist Church. Howard was a devoted and caring husband, daddy, grandpie, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Mr. Belcher is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Jean Wood Belcher of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Aleta & Terry Martin of Meadows of Dan, VA and Michelle & Matt Turman of Laurel Fork, VA; four granddaughters, Brittany Martin, Jessica Martin, Chelsea Turman and Haley Turman; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin & Elva Belcher of Meadows of Dan, VA; a sister and brother-in-law, Arlene & Robert Wood of Meadows of Dan, VA; several nephews and a niece.
Funeral services for Mr. Belcher will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View United Methodist Church with Pastor Terry Martin, Lay Speaker Matt Turman, Rev. Norman Biggs and Pastor Marcus Wood officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.
