Howard Wayne Allred

Mr. Howard Wayne Allred, age 79, of Rural Hall, NC passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Surry County, June 26, 1946, the son of the late Howard Conse and Susan Ann Cox Allred. Mr. Allred retired from Westinghouse-Siemens after 42 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and a faithful member of Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall, NC.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Linda Starling Allred; daughters, Tracie Ross and her husband, Chad, and Amanda Yakos and her husband, Bob; grandchildren, Hannah Ross, Trey Ross and his wife, Kasie, Sam Yakos, Nate Yakos, and Joe Yakos; special cousin, Jimmy Allred; sister-in-law, Ann Allred. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Franklin Allred.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday April 8, 2026, 2:00 PM, at Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy with Rev. Jerry Simpkins and Rev. Mark Muckler officiating. Interment will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens with graveside rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Guard of Mount Airy and Pilot Mountain. The family will visit family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kingswood Methodist Church 6810 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045. Arrangements are entrusted to Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy.
