Ila Mae Arrington

Miss Ila Mae Arrington, 93, of Mount Airy, passed away Friday morning, April 25, 2014, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Miss Arrington was born September 20, 1920, in Surry County, to the late John and Nealie Stewart Arrington. Ila Mae retired from Spencer's Inc. and was a longtime member of Haymore Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by a brother, William Arrington of Rockville, MD; several nieces and nephews; and her special caregiver, Yvette Gunter of Mount Airy. In addition to her parents, Miss Arrington was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Smith; and a brother, John Carlos Arrington. The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 27, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Haymore Memorial Baptist Church, with the Rev. Robert McCrary officiating. Burial will follow at Oakdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
