Imogene Bowman Brown

Mrs. Imogene Bowman Brown, 83, of Ararat, VA, passed away Sunday, August 9, 2015, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was born in Carroll County, VA on December 29, 1931 to the late Howard Cassell Bowman and Mary Belle Montgomery Bowman Biebigheiser. Mrs. Brown was retired from AT&T after 33 years of service and was a member of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church. She is survived by her husband, Kelly Eugene Brown, Sr.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen Wahab and George; sons and daughters-in-law, Kelly Eugene Brown, Jr. and Jane, Kenneth Alan Brown and Pamela, James Harrell Brown; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; half-sisters, Bertha Biebigheiser Buttner, and Sarah Biebigheiser Turner; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by a brother, William Bryan Bowman. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Saint Andrew Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Cline and Pastor Michael Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends at the church after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Saint Andrew Lutheran Church, 1403 Fancy Gap Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030 or the Blue Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, 1961 Willis Gap Rd., Ararat, VA 24053. Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy is serving the Brown family.
