Iva J. Galyean

Mr. Iva J. Galyean, 69, of 2021 Hemric Road, Boonville, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at his home. Mr. Galyean was born May 14, 1937, in Carroll County, VA, to the late James "Jim" and Bertha Pearl McRoberts Galyean. He was a retired farmer. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Taylor Galyean of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Peggy Galyean Dillow of Boonville and Karen and Randy Lane of Siloam; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Randy Galyean, Geary Galyean, and Pete and Marsha Galyean, all of Boonville; two granddaughters, Morgan Galyean and Brooklyn Lane; four grandsons, Randle Galyean, Jonathan Galyean, Colt Lane, and Luke Lane; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Nina and Elwood Hawks of Galax, VA, and Hattie and Sherman Tompkins and Dora Swiney, all of Lowgap; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Troy and Mary Galyean of Lowgap and James Galyean of Mount Airy; numerous nieces and nephews; a host of cousins; and a special family friend, Guy Swaim, Boonville, NC. In addition to his parents, Mr. Galyean was preceded in death by a brother, Lenwood "Shotgun" Galyean; a half-sister, Margie Galyean Bryant McFalls; and two half-brothers, Roy Galyean and Foy Galyean. Funeral services will be .held 12:30 PM Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Moody Funeral Home Chapel of Mt. Airy conducted By Rev. Craig Waldie. Burial will follow in the Galyean Family Cemetery.
