Jackie Alan Wood

Mr. Jackie Alan Wood, 57 of Mount Airy, passed away on Tuesday September 23, 2025, at his home. He was born on December 14, 1967, in Surry County to Jackie Lee Wood and the late Joan Lee McHone Wood. Alan was a carpenter for many years. In his spare time, he would go to cars shows admiring the classic cars that he loved so well. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and best friend, Suzanne "Susie" Shiloh Sutherin Wood; son, Jesse Alan Wood and special friend Taylor Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Meagan and Eric Lewallen; father, Jackie Lee Wood; stepdaughter, Lindsay and Chris Workman; nine grandchildren, Kaidence Wood, Jules Wood, Ledger Wood, Kimber Wood, Aiden Lewallen, Haylee Lewallen, Harper Workman, Kash Workman, and Piper Workman; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa and Trent Upchurch; nieces and nephew, Whitney Reynolds and special friend Kelsey Smith, Ashley Reynolds and fiancé Blake Stanley, and Caleb and MacKenzie Reynolds; and his special fur baby whom he loved more than life itself, Sadie. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 5, 2025, at 4:00pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Trent Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Moody’s from 3:00 – 4:00pm. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
