James Alvis Hooker

Mr. James Alvis Hooker, age 76 of Stuart, passed away Friday, August 15, 2025 at Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. He was born on July 4, 1949 to the late William Ellis Hooker and Lois Tex Willard Hooker. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hooker was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Wayne Hooker and Charles Ellis Hooker. He enjoyed walking and worked as a carpenter, building numerous houses.

Mr. Hooker is survived by two brothers, Jackie Oneal Hooker and William David Hooker, both of Claudville; a special niece, Kathy Burtt of Kernersville, North Carolina; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held for Mr. Hooker at a later date. Burial will follow in the Unity Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of the arrangements, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
