James Robert Beasley, Jr

Mr. James Robert Beasley, Jr., 80, of Mount Airy, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Dunmore Plantation in Dobson. Mr. Beasley was born April 24, 1933, in Surry County, to the late James Robert Beasley, Sr. and Myrtle McMillian Beasley. He served our country in the United States Army and retired from Burnning Federal. Mr. Beasley was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Airy. He is survived by a son, Richard Beasley of Pilot Mountain; a son-in-law, Randall G. Brown of Mount Airy; three grandchildren, James Beasley of Raleigh, and Nicholas Drew Brown and Bethany Ann Brown, both of Mount Airy; a sister, Helen Wood of Mount Airy; and a brother, Billy Beasley of Galax, VA. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Ann Beasley Brown; twin grandsons, Justin Brandon Brown and Jason Gray Brown; two sisters; two brothers; and his ex-wife, Peggy Horton Beasley. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 10, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Chris Benfield officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
