Mr. James Aaron Brintle, 96, of 127 Old East Pine Street, Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday morning, May 8, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Mr. Brintle was born January 7, 1916, in Surry County, the son of the late James Walter Brintle and Addie Smith Brintle Bryant. Aaron served our country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was an entrepreneur in the Greater Mount Airy area for more than 45 years. In his later years, he enjoyed travel with his family and friends. He is survived by a daughter, Aloma Brintle Sibley of Decatur, GA; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Goad Brintle of Mount Airy; a grandson, David Brintle of Durham; three great-granddaughters, Jessica Brintle of Florence, KY, and Ashley Brintle and Kirstie Brintle, both of Durham; two sisters, Frances Bryant and Alice Bryant Bowman, both of Mount Airy; a brother and two sisters-in-law, Joe and JoAnn Bryant and Sadie Bryant, all of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brintle was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Alma Beasley Brintle; a son, Sandy Aaron Brintle; his stepfather, Walter Bryant; and two brothers, Porter Bryant and Weldon Bryant. A graveside service will be held Friday, May 11, 2012, at 10:30 AM at Skyline Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Fonda Younger officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 9:30 until 10:15 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Jan Kriska, Dr. Robyn Hakanson, the staff of Golden Living Center, and the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care for the loving and compassionate care they provided.
