James E. Goode

Mr. James Everett Goode, age 76 of Stuart, passed away peacefully at his home in Stuart on Saturday, May 25, 2019.  He was born in Patrick County on January 16, 1943, and was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Hall; sister and brother-in-law, Gloria Jean and Marvin Moran; brother-in-law, Marvin Rorrer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jessie and Alice Chaney Rorrer.

          Mr. Goode is survived by “his sweetheart” and wife of 58 years, Eunice Rorrer Goode of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby G. and Rick Stevens of Stuart, Anita G. and Billy Hylton of Patrick Springs; one son, Ken Goode of Stuart; three grandchildren, James L. Stevens and wife, JoAnn, Kristie Stevens Clifton, Elizabeth H. Terifay and husband, Russell; five great-grandchildren, Kathleen JoElla Stevens, Jeremiah James Stevens, Baby Stevens due October 11, 2019, James Loegan Clifton and Autumn Grace Terifay; sister, Brenda Hall Sharpe; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vera Rorrer and Carter Bross; brother-in-law, Buren Rorrer; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

          Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Dwayne Pruitt officiating.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
