James David Jackson

Mr. James David Jackson, Jr. age 74,of Traphill, passed away Saturday July 21, 2018 at his residence. He was born April 14, 1944 in Appling, Georgia to the late James David Jackson, Sr. and the late Bessie Marie Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters.  He is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa W. Jackson; special grandson, Tyler Winebarger, of the home; special granddaughter, Jamie “Gertie” Thomas; children, Felicia Strickland of Sylvania, Georgia; Dana Marie Wilson of Roaring River, James David Jackson, III of Sylvania, Georgia and Jason Wesley Jackson of Greensboro; sisters, Jan Harris and Ruth Delancy of South Carolina; brother, Jerry Jackson of South Carolina; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mr. Jackson was a devoted grandfather and an avid fisherman. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 10-11 AM at Moody-Davis Funeral Service in Dobson. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM in the Moody-Davis Chapel with Reverend Jimmy Welborn officiating. Interment with full military honors by VFW Memorial Honor Guard, Mount Airy Post 2019 will follow in the White Oak Cemetery in Thurmond.
