James "Allen" Jenkins

Mr. James “Allen” Jenkins, 78, of Dobson, North Carolina passed away July 17, 2025. Born December 26, 1946, to the late Cephus L. and Mattie Mae Childress Jenkins. Allen was a devout Christian and faithful servant of the Lord. He was faith-driven in all that he did. A true man of God with an undeniable and unconditional love for his family. He loved nothing more than seeing his family in church; he knew then he would see them again someday. He was a true inspiration and immensely impactful in leading people to Christ. The Lord used him to spread His word, which he did while living his testimony day in and day out. Allen was well known for his incredible voice, and his “theme song,” Old Ship of Zion. He sang gospel music with numerous groups over the years. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Kathryn Fulk Jenkins; daughter, Tamara “Tammy” Jenkins; son, Gregory “Greg” Jenkins; grandchildren, Allison Rogers and fiancé, Alex Hutchens, and Gregory Jenkins; great grandchildren, Kadence Hutchens, and Kasen Hutchens; and brother, Rev. Billy “Bill” Jenkins. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Ann Trivette. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, 2025, from 12:00 until 2:00 PM at Second Chance Church. The funeral will begin at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Second Chance Church with Rev. Bill Jenkins, Rev. Terry Coe, and Rev. Kevin Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Second Chance Church Cemetery with Rev. Joey Jenkins and Rev. Chris Leupold officiating.
