James "Jim" William Pierce

       Mr. James W. “Jim” Pierce, age 75 of Claudville, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023, at Atrium Health Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was born in Danville on March 20, 1948, to the late W.H. Pierce and EverLee Goad Pierce. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a son, Brian Scott "Scottie" Griffith. Jim had been a truck driver for over 18 years and his CB handle was Tweety Bird.  He attended New Life Community Fellowship Church.

        Surviving is his loving wife, Reva Dalton Pierce of the home; his children, Angela “Angie” Rakes of Claudville, Jay Griffith of Stuart, Tamatha Frazier of Claudville, Katina Pierce of Bassett; four grandchildren, Devin Griffith, Bryan Griffith, Dalana Coins and husband, Josh, Rebbecca Rakes; one special great granddaughter, Stella Ruth Coins; one sister, Betty Jean Stewart of Bassett; three brothers, Michael Pierce, Randy Pierce both of Littleton, NC, Ray Goad of Danville; several nieces and nephews, and his fur baby and BFF, Sadie.

        A graveside service will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Unity Church Cemetery with Rev. Jim Churchwell and Pastor Wendell Terry officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 on Thursday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.  And as Jim would always say, “10-4, Tweety Bird over and out”.
