James Michael McManus

Mr. James Michael McManus, age 73, of Mount Airy, passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 12, 2026, with his loving family by his side. Mr. McManus was born in Jackson, Michigan, on February 9, 1953, to the late Theron James and Lois Resh McManus. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. McManus was a longtime salesman, within the insurance industry. Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Kay Wood Jones of the home; sons, Matthew McManus of Charleston, SC; Joshua McManus of Chicago; grandchildren, Ramona, Hudson, Austin; stepsons, Brian Hicks of Mount Airy, Greg Hicks (Glenna) of Mount Airy; step grandchildren, Shane and Miranda Hicks; special cousin, Tom Resh; many other cousins as well. In addition to his parents, Mr. McManus was preceded in death by his stepdaughter, Karen Rogers. The family will hold a celebration of life service at a later date.
