James Francis Sales

Deacon James Francis Sales, 86 years old, of Dobson NC, transitioned to eternal rest on March 6, 2019 at Genesis Rehabilitation Center in Sparta NC. James was born April 26, 1932 in Yadkin County. He was the last of twelve born to the late Francis and Ina Williams Sales. He attended Yadkin High School. He enjoyed Clarks Chapel Memorial Baptist Church in Boonville at an early age, and was a faithful deacon until his health failed. His favorite thing to do in church was to lead devotion. He loved to sing.  For many years James poured cement, farmed and had beautiful gardens. He would bring to church things that he grew in his garden to the widows. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Redmon; his parents, Francis and Ina Williams Sales; five brothers, Winnie Frank, Claude, Fred, Willie Ray and Evan; three sisters, Bernice, Edith and Mattie Sue Sales. He leaves to cherish his memory, two grandchildren, Michael Sales and Gary Redmon of Mocksville NC; several nieces and nephews; aunt, Imogene Boles; special friend, Vera Cockerham; daughter figures, Roberta Williams, Melissa Williams and Dorothy Antone; and devoted caregiver and friend, Larry Grimes. Visitation will be Monday, March 11, 2019 from 12-1 PM at Clarks Chapel Memorial Baptist Church in Boonville. The funeral will follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Joel Shackleford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
