James Ray Sawyers

Mr. James Ray Sawyers, age 66, of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation in Winston-Salem. He was born on April 23, 1958 in Surry County to the late Elbert Lee and Shirley Johnson Sawyers. Left to cherish his memory are a son, James Dean Sawyers; brother, Robert Lee Sawyers (Joanne); nieces, Brandi Sawyers Long (Mike), Christy Sawyers; nephew, Jason Sawyers; sister-in-law, Diane Sawyers. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sawyers was preceded in death by a brother, Tony Gray Sawyers. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, June 15 , 2025 at 2:00 PM at Bryant’s Chapel Church Cemetery. with service conducted by Rev. Gary Sawyers. Burial will follow in Bryant’s Chapel Church Cemetery. There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home.
