Jane Chappell

Ms. Jane Chappell, 74, of Mt. Airy, passed away Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Chatham Nursing Center in Elkin.  She was born in Galax, VA August 15, 1944 to the late Roy Lee and Sara Lilly Roberts Chappell.  Ms. Chappell retired from Hanes and was a member of Mt. Airy First Pentecostal Holiness Church.  She was a loving mother, sister and friend.  She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Tompkins, Harold Tompkins and Randy and Gina Tompkins; grandchildren, Haylee and Noah; sisters and brothers-in-law, Annette and David Sexton and Jean and Carl Williams; and a brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Carol Chappell.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Chappell was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Jane Tompkins.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Saddle Mountain Baptist Church with Brother Eddie Hall officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10:30 until the time to the service.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
