Janie Hawks Sechrist

Janie Hawks Sechrist, age 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 2, 2018, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.  She was born August 8, 1954, in Forsyth County to the late Paul Hampton and Mary Jo Chappell Hawks.  She worked as a waitress at the Wagon Wheel Restaurant for over 20 years.  She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Crystal and Ryan Scott of State Road, NC, Lori Rogers of Mt. Airy, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Michelle Rogers of Statesville, NC; grandchildren, Steven Rogers, Madison Rogers, Andrew Scott, Darrell Hawks, Aaron Hawks, Derrick McCoy and Ryan McCoy; sister, Lori Ann Hawks of Dobson; brother and sister-in-law, Reggie and Laurie Hooker of Statesville, NC; nephews, Michael, Trent and Matthew Hawks and Zach Hooker; cousins, Tina Hawks of Mt. Airy, NC; and special friends, Jackie Disher and Sharon Moser of Dobson, NC.  In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by a sister, Jennifer Hawks; brothers, Donald Hawks and Thomas Hawks and a cousin, Robert Lowe.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home, with the Reverend Tony White, Reverend Bill Spurlin and Reverend Sam Dobrotka officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Road, Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody-Davis Funeral Services is serving the Sechrist family.
