Jared Gray Ayers

Mr. Jared Gray Ayers, 32, of Mount Airy passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 20, 2023.  Mr. Ayers was born April 22, 1991, in Winston Salem, NC, to his father Ron Ayers and his mother Edith Smith.  Jared was a well-known figure; he could brighten the day with his presence in the room.  He had a passion for cooking and helping with whatever the need be.  He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Edith Smith and husband Michael; father of the home, Ron Ayers; his brothers, Jefferson “Jay” Ayers, Andrew “Drew” Ayers, Addison Winters, Alexander Winters; grandfather, Carroll Coleson; numerous aunts and uncles; many cousins. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Betty Joe Coleson and Mabel Easter Smith. A celebration of Jared’s life will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Faith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Scott Coleson and Rev. Randy Edwards officiating.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until the time of the service.  Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the donor’s choice.  Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Ayers family.
