Mrs. Eleanor Jean Lane Gordon, age 94, of Pinnacle passed away peacefully Wednesday morning September 10th, 2025, at Priddy Manor Assisted Living with her family by her side. She was born August 12, 1931, in Stokes County to the late Wilbur Burton Lane and Pauline Fowler Lane. “Ma Jean” was a lifelong farmers wife and retired from Pinnacle Elementary School as a Teaching Assistant after over 30 years of service. She touched the lives of so many children over the years, and they were all so special to her! She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Thomas E. Gordon; daughter, Diane Collins; son, David Gordon and his wife, Victoria Adams Gordon; daughter in law, Phyllis Eanes Gordon; and great-granddaughter, Rylan Emory Young. Left to cherish Ma Jean’s memory are her son, Steve Gordon (Christine); daughters, Connie Gordon, Beth Fulk (Ricky), and Kim Jester (Vann); and son-in-law, James Collins all of Pinnacle; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and special friend and teaching partner, Lisa Williamson. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 5:00 in the evening at Mount Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Pinnacle. Rev. Ricky Rogers will officiate the service. There will be no formal visitation at the request of Ma Jean. The family will receive friends at the old home place, now the residence of her daughter, Connie, at 1878 Old Winston Road. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to Hemophilia of NC, 260 Town Hall Drive, Suite A, Morrisville, NC 27560 or to Mountain Valley Hospice, 105 N Crutchfield St, Unit 2 Dobson, NC 27017. The family would like to give special thanks to Ma Jean’s caregivers at Priddy Manor and the sitters with Teddy Angels for their care and compassion in Ma Jean’s final days. Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy is serving the Gordon family.
