Jeanette Pell Hamlin

Mrs. Jeanette Pell Hamlin, 78, of Mt. Airy passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Surry County on February 27, 1945, to the late James Weldon Pell, Sr. and Alice Schaub Pell.  Jeanette was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, and her dog, Sophie.  Her wit and humor will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.  She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Everett and Steve; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph Andrew Hamlin and Li Xia; grandchildren, Joseph Andrew Hamlin, Jr. and Elizabeth, Caroline Elizabeth Albert and Marcus, Alicia Jean Hamlin, Adam Keith Martin, Anna Leigh Draughn and Garrett; a step grandchild, Mattie Everett, four great grandchildren; a sister, Lynda Ann Creed; a brother and sister-in-law, James Weldon “Jimmy” Pell, Jr. and Chris; many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hamlin was preceded in death by her husband Curt Hamlin; a brother-in-law, Buddy Creed.  A private graveside service will be held at Oakdale Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
