Jeanette Moir

          Mrs. Jeanette George Moore Moir, age 90 of Stuart, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Blue Ridge Rehab in Martinsville.  She was born in Patrick County on June 28, 1928 to the late Jerry George and Jenny Smith George.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Fred Moore; her 2nd husband, Walter Moir; one son, James Moore; one grandson, Jason Moore; two sisters, Jathania Travis, Sarah Travis; three brothers, Jesse, Sabie, and Jerry George; 2 half-brothers and 5 half-sisters.  Mrs. Moir was a member of Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church.

          Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Arthur Carter of Stuart; one son and daughters-in-law, Robert and Sandra Moore of Westfield, NC, Phyllis Brown Moore of Stuart; eight grandchildren, Preston Moore, Brandon Moore, Katie Lynn Tolley, Pasconnell Moore, Santel Moore, Cameron Moore, Armonte Carter, Gerren Carter; five great grandchildren, Nia, Zavier, Dion, Mason, Harmoni; one sister-in-law, Sadie George; several nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.

          Funeral services will be held Friday, May 17, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Hylton Thessalonia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Manuel Jessup officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Arthur Carter.  Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
