Jeffery "Jeff" Garfield Jessup

Jeffery Garfield Jessup, 66, of Pinnacle, North Carolina, passed away on September 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Jeffery was born on February 24, 1960, and built a life centered around the things that mattered most to him: his faith, his family, hard work, and enjoying the simple things in life. Jeffery is survived by his wife, Sherry Willard Jessup, his high school sweetheart and partner in life for nearly 47 years. From their high school days through nearly five decades of marriage, Jeff and Sherry built a life and family together that meant everything to him. He is also survived by his children, Misty Jessup Wall and husband Tim, Will Jessup, and Jenny Jessup Kindy and husband John; and his grandsons, Bryce Wall, Joseph “JAK” Kindy, and James Kindy, who brought him tremendous joy. Jeffery is also survived by his parents, Kenneth and Pansy Jessup; his father-in-law, Joseph Johnson Willard; his brother, Joey Jessup and wife Heidi; his niece, Ashley Jessup Newman and husband Nick; his nephew, Brock Jessup and wife Tori; his great-nieces, Harper and Hadley Jo Newman; and his great-nephew, Hudson Jessup. Jeffery was a faithful member of Pinnacle View Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and, throughout the years, sang in the choir, served as Sunday School Superintendent, and taught Sunday School. His faith was not simply a part of his life; it was at the heart of the way he lived. He was a man who deeply loved God and his family and faithfully served both throughout his life. For 39 years, Jeffery worked at Scenic Ford, a career that suited a man who truly loved cars. That love didn’t stop when the workday ended. He especially loved his Mustang, and there were few things better than getting behind the wheel and taking a ride with the top down. When Jeffery wasn’t working, there was a good chance you could find him on the golf course. Almost any day off was an opportunity to play a round of golf, a pastime he genuinely loved. Jeffery also loved to eat and appreciated a good meal, especially when it meant time spent around the table with the people he loved. More than anything, he enjoyed being with his family. The ordinary moments, meals together, conversations, laughter, rides, and simply being together were some of the things he treasured most. Jeffery will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving son, father and grandfather, beloved brother and uncle, and faithful servant of his church. He was a hard worker, an avid golfer, a lifelong car lover, and, above all, a man who deeply loved God and his family. His family will miss his presence at the kitchen table, in the church pew and choir, behind the wheel with the top down, and, of course, out on the golf course. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 9, 2026, from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Pinnacle View Baptist Church. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM at Pinnacle View Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Chamblin Sr. officiating, and special prayer by both Rev. Kenneth Jessup and Rev. Joey Jessup. Burial to follow in the Pinnacle View Baptist Church Cemetery.
