Jennie Jeannette Eads

Mrs. Jennie Jeannette Eads, 82, of Mount Airy, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, October 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband of 66 years, Jerry Eads, and her loving son, Stan Eads.

Jennie was born on January 1, 1944, in Elkin, North Carolina, one of seven children born to the late DeWitt and Emmie Crabb Stanley.

Jennie lived a life marked by hard work, determination, faith, and an unwavering love for her family. She enjoyed an extraordinary 36-year career at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, where she contributed to both the historic Apollo and Space Shuttle programs. Among her many professional accomplishments, she helped implement the ISO 9001 Quality Management Program at Kennedy Space Center.

A firm believer in education and personal growth, Jennie was always striving to better herself. While balancing her career and family responsibilities, she earned her bachelor’s degree and one master’s degree from the University of Central Florida and a second master’s degree from Florida Tech. Her dedication, intelligence, and determination were an inspiration to those who knew her.

Throughout the years, Jennie took great joy in supporting her husband and son in their racing endeavors. She was their biggest cheerleader, always offering encouragement and proudly celebrating their accomplishments.

Jennie was also an avid gardener with a natural green thumb. She found tremendous joy in planting flowers, tending to her gardens, and beautifying the world around her. Her love of gardening was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and her appreciation for God’s beautiful creation.

Following retirement, Jennie and Jerry embraced a new chapter of adventure together. For 14 wonderful years, they traveled throughout the United States in their RV, making countless memories and enjoying the beauty of the country. Along the way, they called Blairsville, Georgia, and Johnson City, Tennessee, home before eventually returning to their North Carolina roots and settling in Mount Airy.

Of all the blessings in Jennie’s life, none was greater than the love she shared with her husband of 66 years, Jerry Eads. Their love story began in high school and blossomed into a remarkable marriage built on faith, devotion, perseverance, and unconditional love. Through every season of life, they stood faithfully side by side, creating a home centered on God and family. Their marriage was a beautiful example of enduring love and a testament to the belief that true love never dies.

Above all else, Jennie was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided the way she loved and cared for others. Even during the final weeks of her life, she continued her cherished daily tradition of reading her Bible. Her steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and unwavering trust in the Lord remained with her until the very end.

Jennie courageously battled cancer for the final two years of her life, facing each day with remarkable strength, grace, and dignity. Through it all, she never complained. Her selflessness was extraordinary, and even during her own struggles, she continued to put the needs and feelings of others before her own.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a beautiful example of kindness and unconditional love. Being a grandmother and great-grandmother brought Jennie immeasurable happiness. She treasured her granddaughters, Allana and Mandy, and her three precious great-grandchildren, Everett, Emmie, and Eva, who filled her heart with endless love, laughter, and joy. The special bond she shared with them was one of the greatest blessings of her life, and the memories they created together will be cherished forever. To know Jennie was to know someone who genuinely cared for others and whose presence made the world a better place.

Left to cherish her precious memory are her beloved husband, Jerry Eads; her son and daughter-in-law, Stan Eads and Kellie Curry; her two granddaughters, Allana Eads Lovewell (Joe Lovewell) and Mandy Eads (Kaitlyn Crosby); her three great-grandchildren, Everett Lovewell, Emmie Lovewell, and Eva Lovewell; her sister, Betty Jo Barbour; her brother, Michael Stanley; and many other loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and also to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care (P.O. Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina 27017 or online at https://mountainvalleycares.org) in loving memory of Jennie Jeannette Eads. The family is deeply grateful for the compassionate care, kindness, and support provided during her final months.

Although Jennie will be deeply missed, her family finds peace and comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Her legacy of faith, love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Her love was a gift, her faith was unwavering, and her beautiful spirit will live on forever.
