Mrs. Jennie Jacquline "Jackie" Hiatt Gravley, 81, of Mount Airy, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gravley was born September 11, 1933, in Surry County, to the late Morris Albert and Macy Alma Laster Hiatt. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family and friends. Mrs. Gravley retired from Renfro Corporation after 25 years of service and was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Left to cherish her memories are her devoted husband of almost 64 years, Jack Dean Gravley; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Lee McGee of King; a son, Dean Gravley of the home; a grandson, Zachary Dean McGee of King; sisters and brothers-in-law, Polly Payne, Peggy Dickerson, Shirley and Jimmy Watts, and Betty Gray and Eugene Simmons; a brother and sister-in-law, James Albert Hiatt and Evelyn; and "granddogs," Layla and Turbo. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gravley was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Eugene Hiatt; and a "granddog," Killer. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 15, 2015, at 2:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to everyone that has assisted with the care given to Mrs. Gravley during her illness, most recently, Renee Sechrist, Brittany Sechrist, and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care Staff, especially Tina Leonard, RN, and Donna Easter, CNA.
