Jerry Lynwood Joyce

Jerry Lynwood Joyce, age 75 of Patrick Springs went to the Lord on October 17, 2026. He was born to the late Raymond Swanson Joyce Sr. and Iva June Fain Joyce.

He was a faithful servant at Pleasant View Baptist Church as a deacon. Serving others and greeting everyone gave him much joy.

He was a 1969 Bassett High School graduate. He proudly served in the US Army, where he was honorably discharged. He retired after 36 years from American Electric Power. He enjoyed mission trips, playing golf, Tarheel basketball, time on the beach, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years Judy Adams Joyce; Two Sons, Todd and Dana Joyce, Brian and Stacy Joyce; Four grandchildren, Wesley and Heather Joyce, Dr. Amanda Joyce and Daniel Harless, Caleb Joyce and Ethan Joyce; great grandchildren Ansel Joyce and Robin Joyce; his brother Raymond and Peggy Joyce; his sister Debbie and Mike Bryant; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will take place at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Dr. Joey McNeil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held at Pleasant View Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 6-8 PM.
