Jesquer Carol (Atkins) Cave

Mrs. Jesquer “Jackie” Carol Atkins Cave, age 88 of Mount Airy, entered into eternal life rest on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Cave was born on September 6, 1937, in Surry County to the late Caleb and Pearl Johnson Atkins. Jackie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughter, Kara Cave Westmoreland; son and daughter-in-law, Steven Cave and Sandy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Austin Westmoreland and Ann Maire, Caroline Smith and Jackson, Belle Cave, John Westmoreland and Magen, Adam Cave and Cricket; four great-grandchildren, Reade Westmoreland, Blake Westmoreland, Kaleb Westmoreland, JB Smith; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cave was preceded in death by her husband, John Benny “J.B.” Cave; three sisters, Faye Atkins Fowler, Peggy Atkins Simmons, Pauline Atkins Younger; four brothers, Lonnie Atkins, Walter Atkins, Carl Atkins, and Troy Atkins. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at 11:00 AM at White Plains Friends Meeting with Reverend Dusty Ball and Reverend Jake Penley officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at White Plains Friends Meeting from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care as well as the staff of Priddy Manor for the compassionate care provided to Mrs. Cave.
