Mr. Jesse J. Dillon, age 88, of Patrick Springs, passed away Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Blue Ridge Nursing Center in Stuart. He was born in Patrick County on April 18, 1925 to the late Jesse James Dillon, Sr. and Ocie Ann Gilley Dillon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by one brother, Hardin Dillon, and two sisters, Mary Joyce and Barbara Dillon. He attended Faith Fellowship of Bassett.
Mr. Dillon is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ila Martin Dillon of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Gary Cummings; one son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Angie Dillon, all of Patrick Springs; four grandchildren, Beth Scott, Brandi Williams, Dustin Dillon and Mandy Dillon; three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Nate and Lauryn; six sisters, Catherine Corns of Stuart, Lee Plasters of Critz, Bessie Turner of Bassett, Shirley Roark of Spencer, Evelyn Rakes of Woolwine and Frances Richardson of Patrick Springs; two brothers, Frank Dillon and Bill Dillon, both of Stuart; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Dillon will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Freddie Bonds officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
