Jilda Faye McMillian

Ms. Jilda Faye McMillian passed away unexpectedly at her home in Advance during the early morning hours of Thursday, December 14, 2023.  She was 80 years old.  Ms. McMillian was born August 9, 1943, in Glen Burney, Maryland to the late Hallie Reynolds and Edgar McMillian.  Ms. McMillian is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Danny Gravely, brothers, Larry McMillian and Gary McMillian; special friends, Barbara Loos, Beth Riggs, Florence Collins, Rose Moser, Sandra Maher, and Shelby Hinson.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Barnes; sisters, JoAnn Greer and infant sister, Louise McMillian; and brother, Terry McMillian.  A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Service in Mount Airy with Bro. Chris Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Peoples Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00. Flowers will be accepted, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy has been entrusted with Ms. McMillian’s arrangements.
