Jimmie Nelson "Jim Bob" Hodges

Mr. Jimmie Nelson Hodges, age 69, of Dobson passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home after a brief illness. He was born in Surry County on February 10, 1945 to the late Dave and Nannie Crissman Hodges. Mr. Hodges was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation and from the Dobson Fire Department where he served for many years. Affectionately know as "Jim Bob" to many, he was a good friend and neighbor to all and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his son, Jimmie Lee Hodges, of the home and a brother, David and wife Bonnie Hodges of Sophia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half sister, Kermit Brooks and a half brother, Robert Akers. In keeping with his request, there will be no formal services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home 945 Zephyr Road Dobson, NC 27017. Moody-Davis Funeral Home is serving the Hodges family.
