Jimmy Ray Mabe

Mr. Jimmy Ray Mabe, 56, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born December 15, 1957, in Surry County, to Ellen Vernona Hooker Mabe and the late James Lewis Mabe. Mr. Mabe attended Northside Baptist Church. He is survived by the mother of his children, Dianne King Mabe of Ararat, VA; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ashley Smith and Christan "Chrissy" and Brad Gwyn, all of Ararat, VA; a son, Mitchell Mabe of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Kalie Mabe, Ashton Gwyn, and Malakai Smith; his mother, Vernona Hooker Mabe of Mount Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat and Rev. Dean Eaton of Mount Airy and Darlene and Barry Hodges of Dobson; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Kathy Mabe of Mount Airy. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 3, 2014, at 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Dean Eaton, and burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:30 until 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1288, Mount Airy, NC 27030, to assist with Mr. Mabe's funeral expenses.
