Jimmy Sechrist

Mr. Jimmy Sechrist, age 87, of Cana, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Galax Health and rehabilitation Center in Galax. He was born on September 4, 1934 to the late General Silas and Cora Johnson Sechrist. Mr. Sechrist was a retired mechanic from Big Man Shell in Mt. Airy. Left to cherish his memories are a son, Freddie Sechrist as well as numerous other friends and family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sechrist was preceded in death by his wife, Ona Mae Jones Sechrist; son, Jimmy Martin Sechrist; sister, Ernie Bowman, and brothers, Grady, Paul Sechrist. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM at A.L Jones Cemetery with services conducted by Rev. C.L. Crotts. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 PM until time to leave for the service at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy.
