Jo Ann Hooker

Mrs. Jo Ann Ray Hooker, age 63, of Mount Airy, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Novant Forsyth Medical Center. Mrs. Hooker was born November 23, 1960, to the late Margie Louise Fox Ray. After Mrs. Hooker graduated from high school, she went on to complete a two-year degree at Forsyth Technical Community College. She retired as an Inventory Clerk within Hosiery Mills. Mrs. Hooker had a passion of serving the lord, holding various positions within the church, was a very proud member of Welcome Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of the home, Kenneth Garland Hooker; daughter, Katherine Louise Hooker; her very special fur-baby “Teddy Bear”; sisters-in-law, Joy Lee Hooker Simmons, Lisa Ann Hooker Adkins. In addition to her mother, Mrs. Hooker was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Robert Simmons, Nelson Keith Hooker. Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at Welcome Baptist Church at 2 PM with the Dr. Rick Jackson, Rev. David Stetler, Rev. Teddy Hiatt officiating. Burial will follow at the Hooker Family Cemetery 132 Country Girl Trail, Mount Airy, North Carolina 27030. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 6 PM until 8 PM. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Hooker Family.
