JoAnn Coalson Bryant

Mrs. Jo Ann Coalson Bryant, age 86, of Mount Airy, passed away on Saturday morning May 20, 2023, at Village Care of King.  She was born in Surry County on April 11, 1937, to the late William Edgar Coalson and Osie Lillian Atkins Coalson.  Mrs. Bryant retired from Spencer’s after 25 years of service and was a dedicated member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.  After retirement, Jo Ann helped her husband Joe at the Oak Grove Market for several years.  Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn Woods-Stanley and husband Mike; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Lisa Bryant; grandchildren, Justin Bryant, William and Paige Bryant, Brent Woods, and Trent Stanley; sisters, Mary Faye Ramey and Teresa Crouse; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jay and Frances Coalson, and Dale and Sarah Coalson; brother-in-law, Leonard Brooks; and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bryant was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Joe Walter Bryant; sisters, Donna Laster and Vickie Brooks; brother, Edward Coalson; and a son-in-law, Tim Woods.  Graveside services will be held on Tuesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church at 1:00PM with Rev. Alton Bledsoe officiating.  There will not be any formal visitation at the funeral home.  Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017.  Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.
