Joann Wall Pratt

Mrs. Joann Wall Pratt, 91, of Pinnacle, NC, passed away on Friday evening, January 26, 2024, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  She was born June 9, 1932, in Stokes County, the oldest of four children born to the late Samuel Kermit Wall and Wilma Augustas Slaughter Wall.   Mrs. Pratt graduated from Pinnacle High School where she met her future husband, Grady Pratt.  She retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company.  Mrs. Pratt loved going to the beach, riding her bike, going boating and fishing, and Blue Grass Music.  Her most engaging hobby by far was buying and selling antiques.   Joann’s greatest love was having her family (immediate and extended) over for the holidays.  Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Brenda Sue Chilton, of Aubrey, TX, and Yulonda JoAnn Hill of Advance, NC; a granddaughter, Ashley Grissom; a great-grandson, Nicholas Grissom; a brother, Lawrence Wall; a brother-in-law, Rev. Myers Tilly; several nieces and nephews; two she referred to as her beloved Angels, Mrs. Myra Tilly Cook, and Mr. Graham Getchell; and many other family and friends.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Decatur Pratt; a sister, Shelby Tilly; and a brother, Aubry Wall.   There are no formal services planned for Mrs. Pratt at this time.  Memorial donations may be made to Vienna Village Memory Flower Gardens, 6601 Yadkinville Road, Pfafftown, NC  27040; or The Helen Keller Foundation for Research and Education, 2208 University Boulevard, Suite 101, Birmingham, AL  35233.   Moody Funeral Services in Mount Airy is serving the family.  Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
