Jody Michael Branch

Jody Michael Branch entered heaven’s gates on March 5, 2024.   He was born August 23, 1977, in Surry County to Mike and Debbie Branch.  He loved life and all his family, especially his daughter and son with a passion.   Jody was a friendly and outgoing person and of the Christian faith.  He was always willing to help someone.  He loved the outdoors and grilling and had a passion for music.  His love of music gave him a natural interest in sound systems, whether it be in cars or homes.  He worked for Lowe’s Distribution for 16 years and had been employed at Surry Community College since 2019. Left to cherish his memories in addition to his parents are his children, Keira Lea Branch Cassell (Matt) and Preston Branch; grandchildren, Meredith, Arlo and Leon Cassell;  brother, Jeremy Branch (Brooke); nieces and nephews, Bella, Salem and Shepherd Branch; grandmother, Jean Hardy; aunts and uncles, Nancy (Tootie) Hemmings, Kay and Alex Shugart, Patti and Jerry Taylor, Rick and Cathy Hardy; many cousins and friends.  Jody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elbert Hardy, Jacob and Bertie Branch.  Visitation will be held at Dobson First Baptist Church sanctuary on Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 12:30 – 2:00 pm with the service to follow.  Pastor Austin Caviness and Pastor Cory Honeycutt will be conducting the service.
