Joe Delbert Brim

Mr. Joe Delbert Brim, 93, of Mount Airy, went to join his Savior on Wednesday morning, December 24, 2025, from the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson. Mr. Brim was born on July 31, 1932, in Surry County, to the late Romney Samuel and Voda Gammons Brim. Delbert retired from Flav-O-Rich Dairies and Brim’s Nursery and was an avid member of the American Rhododendron Society. He brought so much joy to others through his love of growing flowers. Delbert was such a humble, loving, Godly man who will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. He is survived by a son, Sammy Joe Brim and his wife, Brenda, of North Wilkesboro; two daughters, Vyron Minor and her husband, Steve, of Wilkesboro and Dalette Atkins and her husband, Chris, of Mount Airy; five grandchildren, Shane Brim and his wife, Misty, Makayla Castle and her husband, Andrew, Lauren Dillon and her husband, Zach, Billy Joe Lowry and his wife, Heather, and Colby Lowry (Lauren); ten great-grandchildren, Arianna and Avery Brim, Hailey and Nova Castle, Caroline and Rose Dillon, Will, Sadie, and Hunter Lowry, and Hartford Lowry; a great-grandchild on the way; and two sisters, Kornella Martin and her husband, Donald, and Oleeta Chilton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brim was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Parries Brim; two sisters, Vernie Watson and Leeronie Easter; and four brothers, Gloma Brim, Plato Brim, Reavis Brim, and Bronson Brim. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Rickey Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
